About Me:
The author of Non-Toxic Networking, Jennifer wanted to share with others just how easy it is to find people to network with and connect with those people in a meaningful way that can result in more clients and more referrals. Non-Toxic Networking isn’t about making an elevator pitch and talking at everyone you come into contact with, it’s not about handing out as many business cards as possible. It is a real, step by step approach to entering a networking event, finding someone to talk to, knowing what to say, and forging a bond that will make the other person want to do business with you.

Now, after coaching local business owners in Chicago, she has come to the realization that these lessons are universal and had have not been covered in other networking books or guides. Thus, Non-Toxic Networking was born.

Thank Goodness It's Done!

It only took a year, but the paperback is finally available. There are some revisions that have been made with the thousand and one re-edits that the book has gone through.

I'm excited that the paperback is finally done, and will be up on Amazon and Barnes & Noble within eight weeks. My fingers are crossed and my marketing mind is whirring.

I so want to know what the best route to publicize the book is now that it is done. I have so many plans and want to do them all in the right order.

Networking Blog is Live!

I'm taking a minute from explaining how the book has been delayed because the person I hired to format it did it incorrectly so the proof looked unprofessional and i have to have it redone.

Well it is redone, I just have to add the index. I plan on doing it myself, because really I have the worst luck! If I ask you to work for me, just say no. You will either have some horrible family emergency, or you will get sick, or you will not know how to do what I ask.

Because, and I'm not kidding, it h… Continue

Drowning? Yes, but in a good way!

Now that we've got the digital download all ready and selling well...the next task was to get together and order the proof copy of the paperback version of Non-Toxic Networking.

I took care of that last week and received the proof in the mail on Saturday.

Let me tell you something - if you have been considering publishing a book but haven't gotten around to it yet, holding a physical book in your hands is one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had.

Smelling that book, knowing you did t… Continue

Launches aren't as easy as they look!

The marketing plan in place, the seminar all scheduled...

It mostly went off without a hitch. Except for the quality of the seminar audio.

For some reason, the online seminar room wasn't buffering correctly...or something. I don't know if the recording sounds better, I hope it does.

If it does not sound any better, the only plausable option is to re-record it myself and then use Camtasia to record the presentation.

Then it can go on YouTube, and once it is hosted on YouTube I can display it… Continue

Easter Networking

Do you ever wonder if you're supposed to be networking on holidays or just taking the day off?

It depends.

Easter dinner can be a great time to remind your family what you're looking for. A better job, more clients, etc. Many people think family can't help them unless they directly "know someone" but that's not always the case!

If you tell your mom the kind of job she's looking for, and your mom talks to the woman behind the deli at the supermarket, and the deli worker's husband knows someone… Continue
